An awake deep plane facelift is a surgical procedure designed to rejuvenate the face and address signs of aging, such as sagging skin, wrinkles, and loss of facial volume. Unlike traditional facelifts that are typically performed under general anesthesia, an awake deep plane facelift is done under local anesthesia with the patient remaining awake throughout the procedure.

The deep plane facelift technique involves repositioning and lifting the deeper layers of facial tissue, including the muscles and fat pads, to create a more natural and long-lasting result. During an awake deep plane facelift, I will make incisions along the natural creases and contours of the face, such as around the ears and possibly in the hairline.

I then carefully lift and reposition the muscles and fat pads in the deep plane to restore volume and improve the overall facial contour. By working on these deeper layers, the procedure aims to achieve more significant and longer-lasting results compared to superficial facelift techniques.

The awake aspect of the procedure means that the patient is conscious during the surgery. However, local anesthesia is administered to numb the areas being treated, minimizing any discomfort. Patients may also receive sedation to help them relax during the procedure.
