It doesn't matter if you're an Ads expert who's been doing PPC for years or a newbie who's still exploring the advertising platform, you know one feature in Google that exists: Google Ads recommendations.

You might have seen these when you open your ads account or you might have received a call from one of Google Ads support representatives. But the question is, should you really be applying these recommendation to your account?

Google AdWords support can seem to be trying to help. They’ll give you recommendations for your account. They’ll tell you what to fix. They will sound like they’re on your team trying to help you optimize your ads. But I'm telling you to be cautious of these Google Ads representatives and their recommendations.

I’ve been talking with Google’s reps for years now, and they’ve changed a lot since I started. But one thing is still the same: they are sales people, not ""support"" staff.

Google generates a TON of revenue and it’s almost entirely from Google Ads. They’re a business and it’s how they make their money, and part of increasing their revenues is having sales staff. The Google AdWords support is just there to get us Ecom store owners spend more money on our ads.

It’s the truth! The reps will tell you that you need to apply all of these recommendations if you want your account to perform better. But they don't know YOUR store’s profit margin, YOUR business goals, YOUR brand, and YOUR customers.

So guys, when a Google Ads support rep calls you and give you all these Google ads recommendations, DON'T JUST BLINDLY TRUST WHAT THEY SAY! Don't be a "YES" man. You know your store better than anyone else so it's you who will know how to optimize your Ecom store to perform better!
