The new Renault Twingo goes against all modern small car convention by moving the engine and power delivery from the front to the rear. The engine is positioned at a 49 degree angle under the boot floor. Not only does this give more space for luggage, but also means in case of a rear end shunt the engine is pushed under the cabin floor rather than into where the passengers are sitting.
