EPIC TROPICAL STORM SURF HITS CALIFORNIA

EPIC TROPICAL STORM SURF IN SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA.

Tropical storms Emilia and Fabio brought pumping surf to California on August 9, 2024 just in time for the US Open of Surfing in Huntington Beach.

This strong surge of SE and SSE swell lit up the Southern California coastline. Tropical hotspots in Orange County saw the biggest sets with Surfline reporting some spots in the 8 to 12 foot range. While this swell does not compare to Hurricane Marie it certainly can be compared to Hurricane Frank and Hurricane Hilary.

USA's Olympic Surfing members Caitlin Simmers and Griffin Colapinto were both out this day. Congrats to Caroline Marks on bringing home the gold medal for team USA.
