Renowned for having the world's tallest trees, Redwood National Park is one of the most beautiful stretches of forest located on the northern California coast. Sadly the vast majority of old growth redwood forests have been destroyed via logging practices but the state and national park systems have been responsible for preserving over half of all remaining redwoods.

My route today took me through two distinct old growth forests connected by Fern Canyon and Gold Beach. There have been many famous movies shot in these parts over the years including Return of the Jedi, Jurassic Park (The Lost World), E.T, and many others. Unfortunately (fortuantely?) I did not run into any velociraptors on the trip and no Ewoks were harmed in the filming of this video.
