Pregnancy duration in weeks is calculated to plan blood test, ultrasound, and delivery of baby. One way to calculate the pregnancy duration is to use the first date of the last menstrual period and calculate from that date. The expected date of delivery is calculated as 40 weeks from the last date. After 28 weeks of pregnancy, a baby can survive in an incubator. Between 28 weeks and 37 weeks, a baby is considered premature. After this period, the baby is mature and will not require any help to survive.
