Can Amateur & Professional Musicians Make a Choir!? A Berlin Studio Story...

Описание к видео Can Amateur & Professional Musicians Make a Choir!? A Berlin Studio Story...

Hey everyone!
So the journey of the new album continues!
It's been a great start since starting at the beginning of the year.
It's the first time I've shared the process from the first moment here on YouTube - and its making the making of the album a new and vibrant experience.
So far I've recorded 4 songs in recordings studios here in Berlin.
In this video I'm putting the final touches on the most recent two songs:
Be as One & At Your End.

It was filmed and edited by my dear friend Tiago Pöx at Lone Pine studios in Berlin.

It was a real joy to make this amateur and professional musician collaboration - and to dissolve the boundaries between what these distinctions have to mean.
All of us have our strengths and our weaknesses creatively.
In this series of videos, I'm trying to explore my own and, by doing so, encourage others to break down their own limited beliefs and just try.
Too many of us suffer from limited beliefs and negative feelings of "not being good enough" to even try.
The point is not always to get somewhere.
The point is to live it, to grow, to share and to be playful.
Yes, we will always love world-class singers and look at them with awe. But we all have a voice, and, well, life is just better for singing!
This choir recording session was led by my great friend Ben Barritt, who leads several choirs in Berlin, including the BVG choir. He is also a great musician in his own right - I recommend checking out his solo work - you'll never come across a better guitarist!
These sessions continue to be about creativity in music production and learning the lessons we can along the way.
If you are creating an album, writing a book or working towards a gallery opening - I'd love to hear from you!
In my newsletter "Creative Insights" I write every week about creativity and the different ways we can survive spiritually and financially as creatives.
My journey as a musician has seen highs and lows, from sleeping in vans outside venues in Aberdeen, Scotland, to getting signed by EMI.
Sometimes the world says give up, sometimes it says go on.
But what really matters is whether or not you are listening to your inner voice.
What does your heart say?
There is a potential in each of us, and so much unhappiness comes simply from its rejection or the different ways life, the world or our paths prevent us from expressing it.
I hope this video gives you a smile and a sense of encouragement.
At the last, it's about expressing what you love - about doing it and getting over the recrimination and judgement.
You are doing far better than you realise.
In this video are some brilliant independent musicians from Berlin, including:
A Panda do Sol
Dean is Home
Chris Lloyd
Shasta from Classical Music Sundays
Ben Barritt
Watch out for upcoming videos where I'll share more songwriting tips, explore how to write a song, write riffs, and share all the different pain points, triumphs, pitfalls, and breakthroughs I experience along the way!
I know for many musicians, it's a permanent struggle - keep faith in your musical career and your musical heart. Play the long game. Have the courage of radical faith. And remember - the work you do to keep going doesn't have to take you away from what you love - but is the way you support it. Feel proud for the ways you keep yourself going guys.
OK
More album behind the scenes soon!
Keep inspired musicians!
Thank you for the support,
Jim
