National Rail Museum Delhi | History & Future Of Indian Railways The National Rail Museum proudly states the story of the world's fourth-largest railway network. The story started long back in 1853 with a passenger train that ran between Bombay's Bori Bandar to Thane. This Museum innovates itself with modern ideas to preserve all the history of Indian Railways under its dwelling. The National Rail Museum (NRM) is one of the world's prominent Railway museums. Its collections speak of over 160 years of Rail history in the Indian subcontinent. Opened on the 1 February 1977 the National Rail Museum is located in New Delhi's Chanakyapuri area and spreads over 11 acres of land.
