WEEKEND WOGAN 10th ANNIVERSARY SERIES - Show 20/35

12.51pm, live on BBC Radio 2 on Sunday, 1 August 2010… the Louis Armstrong classic, ‘We Have All The Time In The World’, preceded by ‘Happy Birthday To Terry’! 😁

This weekend, we celebrated Sir Terry Wogan’s 72nd birthday by surprising him, live on air, with the traditional ‘Happy Birthday’ song. You can see the look of surprise/embarrassment/horror!!! (call it what you will 🤣) on his face and I’ve made out that at the end of it, you can see him mouth to the band, “You should be ashamed of yourselves!!!” Hahahaha!!! 😂

We immediately launch into 'We Have All The Time In The World’, written by John Barry and Hal David for the James Bond film, ‘On Her Majesty's Secret Service’ and originally recorded by Louis Armstrong. In case you didn’t know, the lyric was written ironically; we DON’T have all the time in the world, and the irony of performing this song, straight after celebrating Terry’s birthday, is not lost on me. We lost dear Terry a mere five and a half years later.

Only the good die young. ❤️
