Описание к видео War & Peace: The River Created By Hercules | The Danube | Part 4 | Journal

Beginning where the last episode ended, at the Iron Gates of the Danube where the river breaks a path between the Carpathian mountains to the east and the Balkan mountains to the west. A war theme is extremely present in this episode as Nick takes us through a journey from 100 AD, to 1999 when the NATO bombing began including some of Nick's own personal experience being a reporter there.

A river that flows through 10 countries, starting from Germany's Black Forest and ending in the Black Sea, the Danube is the second-longest river in Europe. Flowing through much of Central and South-eastern Europe, no other river in the world runs through as many countries making it so unique. Containing rich history from World War II and beyond, to offering a variety of wildlife, the Danube is truly an impressive sight. Nick Thorpe takes us on a journey up and down the Danube to explore all the greatness that it holds.
