Racist violence against individuals of Indian origin in Ireland has recently come to the forefront following a disturbing assault on a six-year-old girl, Nia Naveen, in Waterford.

The incident, which occurred outside the child's home, involved a group of older boys, aged between 12 and 14, who subjected the girl to a brutal attack while shouting racial slurs, including "Go back to India" and calling her "Dirty."

The attackers physically assaulted the child, punching her in the face, hitting her private parts using a bicycle wheel, punching her on the neck and twisting her hair.
