X-Men: Children of the Atom - Silver Samurai Playthrough

Silver Samurai is the next villain in this game that I focus on. While he is a villain, he's a very honorable one. He's the only character in the game that speaks Japanese during fights, unlike Colossus' Russian or everyone else's English.

One of his special abilities it to imbue his sword either the elements of either fire, ice, or lightning, depending on which Punch button you use. As such, SS is the only character in the game that can use Fire attacks, and the fire itself looks A LOT different compared to how it does in all of Capcom's later Marvel fighters (though the same can be said for ice and lightning effects in this game, too).

Another one of Silver Samurai's abilities is to vanish as smoke for a moment. He dodges attack this way, but I prefer not to use it.

His last ability is where he creates shadow clones, and all of them can hurt, but can't be hurt themselves. I like this one the best because it lets me get in more hits in a single combo. STUN THE HELL OUT OF YOUR FOES WITH IT!

Moving on to his Supers, one of them looks a lot like Storm, but as you can see in my fight with Storm, it doesn't reach out as far as her's does. His second Super has him throw 3 Giant Shurikens at once instead of 1. This is enough to slice up Juggernaut without letting any of his Super Armor give him a moment to block it!

--------------

After you beat Magneto with Silver Samurai, SS explains to him that if Magneto used Avalon to take over the world, that would threaten his clan, the Yashida clan. He'd rather keep that alive than spread mutantkind with Magneto, so he leaves him to die on the exploding Avalon, wishing that Magneto was HIS ally, instead, not the other way around.

So then Silver Samurai returns to his Yashida Clan victorious, promising to his people that they will be rewarded well as long as they serve and worship him as their leader at the top of the Yakusa (Yakuza?).

Then one of his greatest rivals, Wolverine, shows up uninvited. Silver Samurai quickly puts him in his place, calling him a Gaijin after giving him a quick savage beating.

--------------

The word "Gaijin" is a Japanese word meaning "foreigner", but it is somewhat of an offensive slur for Japanese people to say to non-Japanese people and things. It's not always seen this way, though. It varies from person to person...
