Beyond the UK, Belgium is Europe’s other historic ale-brewing nation. In this introductory film, Tim Webb, author of eight editions of CAMRA’s Good Beer Guide Belgium, introduces its complex beer culture by sampling eight classic beer types and a couple of local bar snacks, at the Dr Beer café and beer shop in Antwerp. Belgium’s 300 to 400 small, independent breweries make over 2000 regular beers in upward of 100 distinctly different styles, many unique to the country.
