When Panzer Paladin was announced for pre-order by Limited Run, but after finding out that Tribute Games was behind this title, I knew right away that this was a game that I would enjoy. So this is a side-scrolling platformer where you pilot a power armored mech called Grit. You assume the role of rescue service android Flame who pilots the mech. In 17 levels of action you get to work to stop extraterrestrial demonic invaders from conquering the Earth which I suppose is pretty standard storyline, but it works. The game draws a lot of the concepts of game play from retro games of the past, mainly from the NES era. The game uses combat mechanics high versus low with a blocking system for example. You can pickup discarded weapons and uses them. The port of Panzer Paladin for Xbox is good and a lot of fun if you like these sorts of games.
