Botanizing Northern California conifer forests in the late season. See the electrical towers where the infamous Camp Fire started while listening to rants about climate deniers and flower morphology on an unusually hot and dry day in late November. This episode sprinkled with profanity and a few harsh cuts (I'm a sloppy cook and a sloppy editor), then topped off with some edible parasitic mushrooms, Armillaria mellea.

Climate Denialism is a disease of myopia and a blatant case of prior-held opinions dictating assessment of the facts, and stupidity of this kind is a contagious cultural disease which will one day spread to other aspects of society, further dumbing down the American paradigm. It's always amazing how the people who are so rabidly anti-climate-science never seem to have even a basic understanding of geology, ecology, the geologic timescale, floral and faunal population distributions, the idea of plant communities (again, dependent on geology and climate), and have seemingly never bothered to read a scientific paper much less travel and observe the ecology around them first hand. Try and find me an active and well-educated biologist, ecologist, or botanist who denies climate change is occurring and I'll send you a free sticker pack.
