Topographic Surveys. Purpose and Importance.

Most of the construction projects typically begin with topographic surveys as it provides the framework of the land before the improvements that have to be taken place on the property. Topographic surveys are also used for the formulation of an optimal design for drainage, ditches, grading, and other features.

Though the number of surveys to conduct before beginning a project may be large, topography is vital and cannot be overlooked. Topographic maps continue to serve their purpose of assisting with geographic planning, earth science studies, and civil engineering.
