Before trying any type of flip, it is very important to prepare your body. Warm-up your body so that the chances of injuries are reduced. Keep a proper check on all the safety measures and make sure that the area you are performing is safe.

Cartwheel flip
For some people, it is comfortable to perform a cartwheel from the right side whereas for some it is left. Decide which side suits you. To begin with, think of an imaginary line. Raise your hands and while raising think of the direction you are going in.
Slowly place your hands down and kick legs back. With each attempt, keep increasing your pace and as you increase your pace you will notice that you are able to leap higher and land smoothly. You will be making an arc up with your legs.

Butterfly flip
In this flip, you don’t use your hands. Start by basic practice first.
Swing your hands from one direction to the other. Keep practicing until you get momentum.
Now for legs, try swinging them. For this, use a table and practice. Raise your left leg and land it on the ground while placing your right leg after the left leg. Your right leg is supposed to lift in the air by the time your left leg lands.
Now combine hand and leg movements to get a clean butterfly flip

Kip-up flip
Roll on your back and put weight on your shoulders. Your hands should be placed back touching the ground. Push your legs up 5-10 times to practice the movement and get the momentum.
Now, with the help of your hands, push your legs up and place them on the ground. With each round keep increasing the height. Eventually, you will be able to perform a kip-up flip.

Front handspring flip
Raise your hands up and place your right leg in the front. Bend down and come in a get-set-go position. Now when you reach this position, lift your left leg up in the air. Slowly try lifting both legs up in the air and join them together. All this while keep your hands straight, while your weight runs down on them. Keep your eyes open while you roll down on the front.
Now, bend your legs slowly and roll forward. Arch your pelvic area while rolling forward.

Dive roll
Before you start practicing this flip, do neck stretching as this flip uses neck. So, it becomes important to stretch your neck properly before commencing dive roll.
Stand on a mattress and roll forward. Keep increasing distance with each try.
Tuck as soon as you land. Use hands properly as they will give you the force and momentum needed.
Greater the distance, more the run-up

Macao flip
Sit on your toes. Keep your hands rolled inwards. Roll your other hand as much as you roll your pelvis. Roll backward.
Rotate from the side you’re comfortable with. The more you put force and power, the more backward you will be able to roll.
