Revisiting Thornrose Cemetery - Staunton, VA

The first video of the year was my first visit to this lovely cemetery, so I felt it would be fitting to end the year the same way. This visit shows some of the same areas of my first video, but I tried to focus on other areas as well.

Thornrose Cemetery in Staunton, Virginia is the final resting place of around 20,000 individuals. Thornrose's first interment was in 1853 and continues to the present day. Beautiful stonework graces this historic graveyard, from headstones to statues to mausoleums. Visited and filmed May 9, 2020.

I film cemeteries, graveyards, church yards, nature, and other places I find interesting. Cemeteries are beautiful, peaceful places to reflect and I want to help preserve the the way they looked at a certain time. I contribute regularly to Find A Grave and I've been thanked numerous times by relatives and researchers for documenting places they may not be able to visit. I mean no disrespect and sometimes spend time tidying up places that don't necessarily receive it on a regular basis.
