Overwatch origins and lore wise, Reaper, or Gabriel Reyes is a man of two sides - the hero of the First Omnic Crisis, and the international killer known as Reaper! His Nevermore and Plague Doctor skins although they’re not “canon” story, actually have a whole bunch of cultural references, ties and associations with Reaper's character, his present predicament, and a bunch more!

In this video, we delve deep into the fine details of the history, folk lore and stories behind Reaper's skins - the poetry of Edgar Allen Poe's "The Raven", the myth and legend surrounding ravens, and how these and Plague Doctor history have influenced so many games, writers and films that we enjoy today, as well as explaining how Reaper's Nevermore and Plague Doctor skin names and details actually show direct references and influences to his character in Overwatch!
