At the remnants of a volcanic island largely destroyed during a 2022 volcanic eruption, some interesting finds have been made. One of these finds is an exposure of green copper minerals. Since the layers on Hunga Tonga Hunga Ha'apai's remaining islands are now exposed, ash layers, lava layers, and other geologic features are now visible for all to see. This video shows footage from the aftermath of Hunga Tonga's powerful volcanic eruption.
A special thanks to: Taaniela Kula, Pupunu Tukuafu, Shane Cronin, Sung-Hyun Park, & Marta Ribo for providing video footage of the volcano above sea level post caldera collapse and scans of the seafloor with its new caldera
