Welcome to Weekly Travel! 🌿
Before visiting any destination, it’s important to know all the major tourist places (টুরিস্ট প্লেস) of that area. In this episode, we explore the Top 10 Tourist Places in Teknaf (টেকনাফের ১০ টি দর্শনীয় স্থান)—one of the most beautiful and historically rich regions of Cox’s Bazar, Bangladesh. This Teknaf Travel Guide (টেকনাফ ভ্রমণ গাইড) will help you plan the perfect tour.
✨ Top 10 Tourist Attractions in Teknaf (টেকনাফ টপ ১০ টুরিস্ট স্পট):
1. Shamlapur Beach (শ্যামলাপুর বীচ)
A quiet and peaceful beach filled with colorful fishing boats and trawlers. You’ll watch fishermen repairing nets and boats—giving a unique glimpse into coastal life. This beach is empty, calm, and far from crowds.
2. Kudum Cave (কুদুম গুহা)
A mud cave filled with clear water—waist-deep in winter and neck-deep in monsoon. Inside the cave you’ll hear hundreds of bats and see their droppings falling like rain. Kudum Cave is located nearly 1,000 feet above sea level and has a length of 500 feet.
3. Noakhali Para Waterfall (নোয়াখালী পাড়া ঝর্না)
Surrounded by beautiful hills. Water flows only during the monsoon season. From here, walking further north leads to Bagghona Waterfall (বাঘঘোনা ঝর্না)—but due to a 2024 kidnapping incident, it’s temporarily unsafe for tourists.
4. Mathin’s Well (মাথিনের কুপ)
A legendary romantic–tragic historical spot. In 1924, police officer Dhiraj Bhattacharya fell in love with a local girl named Mathin. When he left for Kolkata, Mathin stopped eating and died from heartbreak. The well remains a symbol of her eternal love and sacrifice.
5. Shah Parir Dwip Terminal (শাহ পরী টার্মিনাল)
Located on the Naf River, which separates Bangladesh and Myanmar. The jetty is about 550 meters from the bridge. Locals use this terminal for traveling to Saint Martin Island.
6. Dakshin Para – The Last Point of Bangladesh (দক্ষিন পাড়া)
A 1.24 km walk southwest from Shah Pari Jetty leads to the southernmost land point of Bangladesh. Beyond this point, there is no road—only the endless Bay of Bengal.
7. Teknaf Marine Drive Road (টেকনাফ মেরিন ড্রাইভ)
At the Teknaf end, both sides of the road are lined with colorful fishing trawlers. A perfect spot for photography and drone shots.
8. Shabrang Zero Point (সাবরাং জিরো পয়েন্ট)
The southern end of the 80 km Cox’s Bazar Marine Drive, the longest marine drive in the world. Inaugurated on 6 May 2017, it features a signature clock tower. Beyond this point lies Shah Parir Dwip, not the last land of Bangladesh.
9. Teknaf Beach (টেকনাফ বীচ)
Part of the magnificent Cox's Bazar coastline. Includes Shamlapur Beach, Baharchhara Beach, Shilakhali Beach, Hazampara Beach, and Shah Parir Dwip Beach. Great spot for sunset, beachside food stalls, and relaxation.
10. Saint Martin Island (সেন্টমার্টিন)
The only coral island of Bangladesh and one of the Top 10 Tourist Spots in Bangladesh. Crystal-clear blue water, coconut trees, coral reefs, and breathtaking beaches. Always travel to Saint Martin by ship in winter, not by trawler or speedboat for safety.
