Because of a big track fire just north of 59th Street Columbus Circle our train had to reverse back to 72nd street and use the rarely utilized 72nd Street spur.

It was very chaotic and our train went into emergency many times.

Personally I could smell the smoke and from what the operator said afterwards was he could see the flames quite clearly and it was filling the tunnels and the first car.

The heroic employees of this train and the dispatchers made quick thinking decisions and helped prevent the fire from worsening.
