Evergoods Civic Travel Bag 26 (CTB26) - hands-down favorite one-bag travel & destination-use EDC bag

Описание к видео Evergoods Civic Travel Bag 26 (CTB26) - hands-down favorite one-bag travel & destination-use EDC bag

The Evergoods Civic Travel Bag 26 - also known as the CTB26 (and for the limited edition Carryology version, the "Phoenix Chapter II") is an urban-travel oriented bag in the somewhat smaller end of the size spectrum of the one-bag travel type travel bags. It is also my current all around single favorite “Goldilocks” bag - that is to say, a one bag travel bag that can both capably get your stuff from point A to point B but also is imminently usable as non-ridiculous looking EDC bag at the destination.

Featuring a perfect blend of the CPL24 clamshell style with the side water bottle pockets of the CHZ line, with the travel-oriented affordances of the CTB35 and sized just right between the CPL24 and 28L size, the CTB26 might be close to the “perfect bag” that many people were waiting for Evergoods to make.

As mentioned, the CTB26 also makes for an amazing "goldilocks bag" - a One Bag Travel bag that you can use to get all your (well-dialed but not absolutely minimalist) loadout to your destination then comfortably use as an EDC bag at your destination.

There's actually two different version of the CTB26 - both of which I review in this video - the mainline nylon version made in Evergoods' traditional excellent materials, and a limited edition collaboration with Carryology, the website for carry enthusiasts, known as the "Phoenix II". Other than the materials, and colour (and other minor differences such as relative amount of stretch and water resistance) the two version are essentially identical.

The biggest shortcoming of this bag - and this may be at risk of being slightly biased - is probably that it's quite difficult to find at the moment - the original Carryology version was a one-time drop only available on the second hand market and the mainline version is out of stock at just about everywhere. Beyond that, there's a few minor quibbles here but other than possibly the 26-28L size range (which rules it out for people with larger loadouts) generally speaking, there is very little complain about here, assuming one is in the market for a one-bag travel bag in this size range.
