In this video, we're exploring the delicious and unique Romanian dish of cold jelly with chicken. This dish is made with meat and served cold, making it a refreshing and satisfying option for warm weather.

To make this dish, you'll need the following ingredients:

1 chicken, including feet and other gelatinous parts
1/2 large celery root
1 onion
2 bay leaves
Salt and pepper, to taste
2 medium carrots
3-4 minced garlic cloves


Start by placing the chicken pieces in a large pot and covering them with water. Add the celery root, onion, bay leaves, carrots, salt and pepper. Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce the heat and let it simmer for about 1-2 hours, or until the chicken is cooked through.

Once the chicken is cooked, remove it from the pot and let it cool. Strain the remaining broth into a separate pot, and set aside the cooked carrots.

Let the broth cool to room temperature and the add the minced garlic cloves.

Shred the cooled chicken meat and add it to the broth. Stir well.

Arrange the cooked carrot slices on the bottom of a serving dish or mold. Pour the chicken and broth mixture over the carrots.

Refrigerate the dish for at least 4 hours, or until the jelly has set.

Serve your cold jelly with chicken sliced into pieces, and garnish with the cooked carrots and fresh herbs.
