WALKS IN DORSET at WEST BAY & BURTON BRADSTOCK (THE JURASSIC COAST) [4k]

This is another video in my series “ Walks in Dorset” accompanied by my Whippet (Logan). In this episode, I take a walk in and around West Bay which is located about 1.5 miles South of Bridport on the Jurassic coast.

I park my car at the West Bay Road car park on the East side of the resort and start off with an exploration of West Bay itself. After gentle stroll along the beach under the impressive East Cliff, I commence my 4.5 mile circular route by heading Eastwards up a hill and through the Bridport & West Dorset Golf course.

Passing around a holiday park, I reach the pretty village of Burton Bradstock and take the opportunity of looking around. I continue Eastwards and climb to the top of a hill that has a Bronze Age barrow (and a WW2 Pillbox) on top.

I then start my homeward journey by first visiting Hive Beach & Burton Cliff and then joining the South West Coast Path back to West Bay. The West pier at West Bay makes an ideal final destination – to enjoy some sausage & chips!

The weather was perfect for my walk – a sunny, bright Spring day.
