Abbey Trio in Quilty (1st half)

A full house in the Quilty Tavern, Quilty, Co Clare, for this final ceili of the 2023 Willie Clancy Summer School with music by the Abbey Trio (John Coakley, Matthew Kelleher and Andy O'Connell). The video opens with the Corofin Plain Set (the second set on the programme, the first was not recorded), followed by the Caledonian (22:30) and Merchant (43:45) sets, and a waltz (57:15). A second summer school ceili in a marquee was forced to cancel due to high wind warnings, so a huge crowd came to Quilty where some had to dance on carpet and tiles because they couldn't fit on the dance floor.
