As the United States is seeking to intervene with military in Venezuela, in Greenland, in Iran, in all of these different places, and ICE continues to terrorize our communities, us students, working class people of this country, can't even afford housing. You know, or education. And so we say that we should fund our people's needs, not war, not racist deportation."

"And so students and workers alike are realizing this is not the time to be silent, this is the time stand up and advocate for real change because we can't wait. We can't for another election. We can wait for the Democrats to come and save us. We need a general strike now in this country. We've seen that in the past general strikes and mass mobilizations are what bring real change, not voting. So the students are realizing that and they're out here to say that and to demand an end to ICE terror and forever wars today."

STORYLINE:
Hundreds of students at Kennesaw State University took part in a walkout to protest ICE raids and U.S. military interventions.

The protestors marched holding signs and banners, chanting "Abolish ICE".

"We're here as part of a nationwide shutdown to demand that ICE stop terrorizing our communities. We demand justice for Renee Nicole Goode, as well as saying no war in Venezuela," said Stephen Sellers, a senior at KSU.

Grace Blomberg, one of the walkout organizers, said she protests because she believes it is her duty.

"This is not the time to be silent, this is the time stand up and advocate for real change because we can't wait," Blomberg said.
