6 Days in Tokyo - Day 5 & 6 - Acoustic guitars in Ochanomizu, Harajuku, Korean Town, and Odaiba Beach (Statue of Liberty)
Started the 5th day by going over to Meidaidori (musical street) street in Ochanomizu again to look and try out some acoustic guitars. After realising that Akihabara Station is so near to Ochanomizu, we decided to give it a try to go on foot. After walking under the Green Bridge (Shohei Bridge), we arrived at Akihabara. From Akihabara, we took a train to Harajuku Station, where a popular walking street named Takeshita Street is situated. At Harajuku Station, we first ventured into a Yoyogi Park, which is right next to the station's exit. The experience of walking in the park was surreal. After we left the park, we ventured into the bustling part of the city and found the entrance to Takeshita Street. The experience of seeing so many people on a narrow walking street can be quite scary.
Just a few hundred meters away from Takeshita Street is the Fender Guitar Flagship Store. I went in and tried out playing a couple of their guitars.
The next day, after breakfast, we depart for Okubo, which is where Tokyo's Korean Town is situated. We spent quite some time till lunch to explore the bustling sights of this part of the city. After lunch, we took a train to Teleport Station and then walked to Odaiba Beach from there. The 2 popular sights are the Statue of Liberty of New York and the Rainbow Bridge that is worth going there for. At the beach we discover a ferry cruise that allows us to have some sight-seeing done and at the same time will drop us Ryogoku Station, which is only 2 stops to Akihabara Station where we had our last dinner in Japan before leaving for home.
