I've had people do a fire test on their gold chains and pretty much ruined them. I advised and recommend you not trying to see if your chain is real gold or not by this simple test. Reason being, most REAL gold chains have a top plating on them that will react to the heat. Putting fire or heat to your gold chain to see if it is real is not a good idea. Go get it XRF tested.
