The best way to prevent rust from ruining your exhaust is routinely cleaning the underside of your vehicle and paying close attention to the exhaust system. This works best if you can put the car up on a lift or jack stands so you can get underneath and start the process. This video will show you the process from start to finish, all you need is some wheel polish, car wax, or rubbing compound for stubborn areas. Then use a portable buffer to buff the exhaust pipes and mufflers, and finish off with a micro fiber towel. For dry and hot climates, this may only need to be done once a year or 2 years. In wet, humid climates near salt water, this should be done every 3-6 months as necessary. This will keep your exhaust in good shape and prevent rust from ruining the underside of your car!
