Folding Chess Board with a 3-Color Epoxy Logo

In this video, I make a folding chess board out of walnut and sycamore and with a three-color epoxy logo of the New York Islanders. The squares are 2.5" (63.5 mm) to give a playing area of 20" x 20" (508 mm x 508 mm) and the frame is 2" (51 mm) to give an overall size of 24" x 24" (610 mm x 610 mm). The board is 1" thick (2.5 cm). The frame includes a 1/4" (6 mm) ebony border and curly maple edge banding around the perimeter. The frame also has concealed magnets to keep the two halves together when the board is folded.

The board is finished with TotalBoat TableTop Epoxy that I sanded using 320-grit, 400-grit, 600-grit, 800-grit, 1000-grit, and 1500-grit sandpaper, and then I proceeded to buff it to a high gloss with the VEVOR car polisher buffer using Meguiar's Ultimate Polish.
