Tell Me It's Not True - In aid of the bowelbabefund

A week before my beloved friend Dame Deborah James died, she asked me to perform ‘Tell Me It’s Not True’ at her funeral.

After seven years of friendship, I was completely taken aback, but of course, agreed to do so. It was the hardest and most emotional performance I’ve ever had to give.

I was then honoured to be asked by Deborah’s parents to record the song and release it and today I’m happy to share a sneak peek of a very special recording of the song in aid of the @bowelbabefund, which Deborah set up to raise money for cancer research and awareness.

Working with an accompaniment of 25 extremely talented musicians in the iconic Studio 2 at @abbeyroadstudios, it was a privilege to record this song in memory of my friend Deborah and I hope you’ll get behind it to raise as much money as possible for the @bowelbabefund.

The song will be available to purchase and stream across all major platforms from Monday 3rd July.

All net income from the release of this single will be paid to the Bowelbabe Fund for Cancer Research UK. Cancer Research UK is a registered charity in England and Wales (No. 1089464), Scotland (No. SC041666) and the Isle of Man (No 1103) and Jersey (247) and the Bowelbabe Fund is a restricted fund within Cancer Research UK.
