The Karnataka Governor on Saturday granted permission to prosecute Chief Minister Siddaramaiah in connection with an alleged scam in allocation of land by the Mysore Urban Development Authority (MUDA). The Congress, which calls the allegations a ploy by the BJP and the central government to target the Karnataka government, stated that it stands by the Chief Minister and has called for a statewide protest.
