The 1972 Atlantic Hurricane Season was a below-average season due to the El Niňo. 7 storms were formed in this season. Hurricane Agnes made landfall in Florida as a category 1 hurricane. Days later, Agnes caused significant flood in Pennsylvania. Hurricane Betty (or Bravo) was the strongest storm of the season. Initially, the storm was be named Bravo; but when the radar revealed that the storm had winds of 98mph (or 158kph), the storm was be named Betty. Subtropical Storm Alpha and Tropical Storm Carrie caused 6 deaths (4 from Carrie, 2 from Alpha) and caused $1.79mln in damages ($1.78mln from Carrie, $100,000 from Alpha). In this animation, the tropical depressions weren't unnumbered.
