Will this New SEBI Rule make Options Trader More Profitable or Increase their LOSSES?

SEBI brings out rules across Stock market formats every now and then. Some of these rules are around retail traders as well like the one we are going to talk about in this video.

This rule is about cutting down the revenue sharing of transaction charges between NSE and Stockbrokers.

You might think, so what? What is in it for me, a retail trader?

Well, there is a lot. A lot that indirectly impacts you. How?

This revenue sharing of transaction charges makes the brokers to promote option trading among retail traders. The apps are built as per options trading, the workshops are help as per options trading, the finfluencer marketing campaigns happen around option trading.

Now, if this revenue sharing of transaction charges on option trading is stopped by SEBI, the incentive that the broker used to get for promoting options trading will get killed.

If that gets killed, then the broker would need to do something else, think something else around its business model to keep up the revenue if not increase it.

And then, if the brokers or social media stops promoting this format, new retail traders will not enter at a scale that they do today.

This would help the profit percentage in options trading increase too.
