The Nike+ FuelBand was a fitness wearable wristband released in 2012. While sufficiently hyped and advertised, the product found itself in an oversaturated market with competitors that offered superior options and uses at similar price points. While Nike did attempt to correct these issues, eventually they decided to bail out of the whole idea just two years after initial launch. They would go on to say that the phone app required to continued using the bands would continue to be supported, however, in 2018 it was revealed that that was a total lie. Nike gave only two week's notice before shutting off the service, rendering the remaining FuelBands completely useless.
