Why Should We Homestead? Even on Small Acreage

In todays day, why should we homestead? We live on 1/2 acre and produce 80% of our food. Even on small acreage it can be done and there are several reasons to homestead with what we have today! It doesn't matter where you start to homestead, just start your journey to become more self reliant!
