एक दंपत्ति ने बताया कि उनकी 2 लाख की 10 बकरियां बाढ़ के पानी में बह गईं। उनका दर्द यह है कि सरकार का कोई भी प्रतिनिधि सुध लेने तक नहीं पहुंचा। ग्रामीण नावों के सहारे अपनी ज़िंदगी काटने को मजबूर हैं।

पंजाब इस वक्त 1988 के बाद की सबसे भयावह बाढ़ से जूझ रहा है।
अब तक 37 लोगों की मौत हो चुकी है, 3.5 लाख से ज्यादा लोग प्रभावित हैं और 1.48 लाख हेक्टेयर से अधिक फसलें तबाह हो चुकी हैं।
गुरदासपुर, पठानकोट, फाजिल्का, कपूरथला, तरनतारन, फिरोजपुर, होशियारपुर और अमृतसर सबसे प्रभावित जिले हैं।
