addition to the functions in the setpoint and process value branches, the instruction implements a complete PID controller with binary manipulated variable output. It is possible to influence the manipulated variable manually. Subfunctions can be enabled or disabled.

The instruction enables technical processes and systems with integral-action actuators to be controlled on SIMATIC S7 automation systems. Slow (temperatures, filling levels etc.) as well as fast controlling systems (flow, speed etc.) can be controlled.

The controller can be used individually as a fixed setpoint controller, or in secondary control loops in cascade, blending or ratio controls; however it cannot be used as the primary controller.

Signal processing in the setpoint/process value branch as well as handling and monitoring of the control deviation is identical to that of the continuous controller
