How to Transfer from Wheelchair to Chair as a Paraplegic

This is how you can transfer from your wheelchair onto another chair. Being able to transfer from your wheelchair to another chair can be a useful skill to have. It's probably not something you would do often but their are occasions when you might want to transfer to another chair for example if you need to get off your wheelchair to make some adjustments to it, so it's good to know how. Wheelchair to chair transfers are quite straightforward for paraplegics as they are very similar to the basic level transfer, however the landing area is quite small and the chair might not be very stable which makes it a little bit more difficult than a level transfer.
If you are new to this transfer we would recommend practising with someone else holding the chair to stop it from moving.
