As a bit of background, the X Wing was the key air superiority/multi-role fighter of the Rebel Alliance - it could easily counter common Imperial ships, including Tie Fighters. It was developed based on the ARC 170 - a Republic Starfighter with a pilot and two gunners, which was one of the strongest and most effective ships of the Clone Wars.

Most of the clips from this episode come from either the Battle of Yavin (or the Assault on the Death Star) from Star Wars: A New Hope, or the Battle of Coruscant from Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith.
