Watching Trenitalia, Trenord, ÖBB and .italo trains go by at Verona Porta Nouva 11/08/2024

Verona PN is a station I have always wanted to spend a bit of time at. It is the junction between the Trenitalia Milano-Venezia-Trieste line and the Austrian Brennero line to Innsbruck, so there is major international traffic here.
At the time of the video, the line between Verona and Venezia was closed for works, which meant that trains between the two stations were doing a whole lap of the Po valley, to the outskirts of Bologna and back!! (no bus replacement service here!). They then approached Verona from the west and reversed. This is making it very difficult to identify which train is which, as a special timetable was in operation.
I also got some film of the depot at Verona S. Lucia which is absolutely massive, servicing all the passenger trains on the line, as well as the freight locos for the Brenner route. There was also what looked line an ancient E428 loco lurking.
On the station itself, even on a Sunday, it was really busy. If you don't like Rock or Caravaggio units, this may not be the video for you, as these are now the standard fare. I personally like them- they accelerate well, are fast and the front end design is insane! As a base level unit, they seem to me to be much nicer than the Stadler Flirts used on cross border services around Milan.
