Getting your kick drum and bass guitar to work together can sometimes be challenging.

Both instruments need to sound huge, but there's only so much sonic real-estate available in that sub bass range and things can easily get messy.

The best way to achieve a crisp, aggressive bottom end is to really focus on getting your kick and bass working well with one another by having them stay out of each other's way.

My favorite way to combat this it to utilize a combination of strategic high-pass filtering and side chain compression.
