Dr P S M Rao explains the new and old pension schemes of the government employees. He shows how the demand for old pension scheme is justified and why the New Pension Scheme is not sustainable.
He gives some details about the MLA's pension in different states, EPF pensions and state governments' old age pension to the poor. He also shows how the EPF Pensioners fall below poverty line, in terms of income, after their retirement. Dr Rao shows the increasing number of 60 plus population and explains the need for better social security to be provided by the government.
