IN A FAR AWAY GALAXY
where interactions between the various planets are made difficult due to the enormous distances that separate them, space travel agency LIBRA, located on the capital planet Tiresias, is responsible for maintaining efficient communications between the worlds. When, following an inexplicable event, all the colonies cease to transmit news at the same time, the space agency sends a series of exploratory probes to find out what happened. Having to travel tens of light years away, however, the first images are retransmitted to the base with decades of delay, showing mysteriously abandoned worlds, in which the presence of the human being seems never to have happened.

GARDENS: A SPACE OPERA
is an epic audiovisual saga in 28 episodes, created in the form of a documentary sci-fi reportage. Each episode is the video report that an exploratory probe sends from one of the 28 planets of the galaxy and is inspired by the symbolic gardens described by professor Duccio Demetrio in his book "Which garden are you? Know yourself through a symbol". Every planet (every Garden) represents, in this perspective, a forgotten (or neglected) aspect of our personal life (or of our society) and that, with the help of the dreamlike transfiguration, can be rediscovered and internalized: a "sensory journey" in which each of us has the opportunity to seek the deepest and most unspoken reality about himself.

LIBRA: SPACE TRAVEL AGENCY
Before being one of the narrative elements of this saga, is the name of the artistic collective creator of GARDENS: A SPACE OPERA. The constellation of Libra is the only one of the zodiacal signs to represent an inanimate object, constituting a parallelism with the idea of worlds suddenly devoid of human beings. Also linked to the Libra symbol is the character of Tiresias (here translated in the name of the capital planet from which the exploratory probes are sent): a fortune-teller in the Greek mythology who, experiencing life both in the role of man and woman, becomes a symbol of the understanding of harmony through direct knowledge of the opposites inherent in everything. In the "construction" of the Gardens, therefore, reality and dream, narration and poetry, documentary and fiction, future and archeology, tradition and experimentation come into communication with each other, allowing the viewer to actively explore his personal "inner worlds" in an attempt to tear them away from a forgetfulness to which he himself had confined them.
