In this episode of The Newshour Debate, host Navika Kumar will discuss how in an effort to demonstrate that their campaign is sincere and supported by facts, the creators of The Kerala Story on Wednesday held a press conference in Mumbai where they brought 26 victims who were supposedly brainwashed and trapped by ISIS recruiters to the media. Adah Sharma, the star of The Kerala Story, and director Sudipto Sen announced the movie's upcoming UK release on Twitter a few hours prior. Producer Vipul Shah stated, "Our movie was termed propaganda, during the press conference. They now have a response from the audience. We made sure that what we communicated was accurate notwithstanding these accusations. Additionally, Shah stated that the goal of their movie was to "save our daughters." We are joined by a few panelists expressing their views on this issue. “The Indian government has arrested 165 people who are ISIS sympathizers. Radicalization is a problem, and we have to stay united against it,” stated Rahul Easwar, Activist.
