"Genesis", was composed and produced by Dennis Byrd of Toledo, Ohio. He was only 19 years old when he wrote this Gospel Music Classic. The song instantly became a hit when he and young choir performed "Genesis" at GMWA 1974 in Cleveland, Ohio.
Most choirs perform a shortened version of "Genesis". This is the original full version as recorded by Dennis Byrd and the Toledo Angelic Choir, formerly the Woodward High School Afro-American Gospel Choir on 45 rpm and  released in1974.
