Buen Camino says 17.85 miles but my watch clocked the day at 20.15 miles.

We were walking by 7am. Early enough to see the sunrise. Pretty sure I didn’t make any sunrises on the Appalachian Trail. (Hey @rach_wild remember that one time we were going to get up for the sunrise on Max Patch!! 🤣)

I’m not an early riser but we thought we needed to get started early to secure a bed in the Albergue. (Turns out. We are fast. Mirheir was the first to arrive.) It didn’t matter for me because mid day one of the other accommodations had an opening so I booked it. I don’t like having to rush. I want to be able to enjoy the scenery and take it all in.

Today brought a lot of road walks with not so safe shoulders. I had to put a lot of faith in the Portuguese drivers. We are both still intact. That is all that matters. Well, not sure we are completely intact. I have a blister and quickly remembered the constant throbbing of your feet towards the end of the day.

After a quick nap and chores, we went to a small cafe. We weren’t entirely sure what we were ordering but it turned out to be delicious. We quickly looked at our game plan for the next few days aka had our “Business Meeting.” Let’s just say, I am beyond thrilled for a shorter day tomorrow.

Not quite sure who I was kidding when I thought I would do 18-20 miles every day. Good thing I have until November 13th. I plan to be done before then so I can explore some of England. But it’s nice to know I have plenty of time.
