This was built during WW2 and was later re-commissioned for use during the cold war as an underground nuclear fallout facility for use by the government, BBC and the MOD in the event of a nuclear attack on Britain. The radio tower would of been used to communicate with the outside world and any other survivors, some really scary stuff.
