This is a variation of the Partridge and Orange, and it’s my favorite to use in the fall for both brook trout and landlocked salmon on my trout spey rod, swinging it through the current. However, that’s just what I use it for here in Maine, and it’s a well-known and successful pattern that I’m sure you can use to catch more species.
